1931

A clothes wholesaling business was set up in Ise City, Mie Prefecture, by the late founder Shinpei Onishi.

1944

ONISI Iryo CO., Ltd. was established.

1954

A self-service style cash-and-carry wholesaler was opened.

1966

The distribution industry’s first online real-time computer system was introduced.

1968

The current headquarters building was completed.

1975

ONISI SI Center CO., Ltd. (current TENKENSOUI CO., Ltd.) was established.

Takashi Onishi (deceased) assumed the position of President and Representative Director of ONISI Iryo CO., Ltd. Shinpei Onishi (deceased) assumed the position of Chairman of the Board.

1982

A new corporate identity (CI) was introduced. ONISI Iryo CO., Ltd. was renamed Self ONISI CO., Ltd.

ONISI SI Center CO., Ltd. was renamed Self Tenken CO., Ltd.

Tokyo Self ONISI was opened.

Barcode POS cash register system was launched.

Megumi Ishikawa assumed the position of President and Representative Director of ONISI Iryo CO., Ltd.
Takashi Onishi (deceased) assumed the position of Chairman of the Board.

Self Tenken CO., Ltd. made a foray into Shanghai (China).

Self Tenken CO., Ltd. was renamed TENKENSOUI CO., Ltd.

Yutaka Onishi assumed the position of President and Representative Director.

Apiserk CO., Ltd. was renamed ONISI, Ltd.

The Tokyo head office of the TENKENSOUI CO., Ltd. was expanded to act as the Tokyo headquarters. This means double headquarters in Tokyo and Osaka.

With the move to a holding company structure, Self ONISI CO., Ltd. was established.

Scrum Corporation was established.
The north building of the ONISI, Ltd. headquarters (Self ONISI’s Osaka headquarters) was reconstructed and completed.

A new personnel system (Mission Grade System) was introduced.

ORIM CO., Ltd. joined the ONISI group.

The Tokyo headquarters of the TENKENSOUI CO., Ltd. expanded and moved to a new location.

CareFashion CO., Ltd. was established.

ONISI IRYO CO., Ltd. was established by combining the businesses of Self ONISI CO., Ltd. and Family Joy CO., Ltd.

Dutch subsidiary ONISI Europe B.V. was established.
